What can you do with the Child puppet?
These puppets were made using the Child pattern and instructions:

Daisy and Ghoul in the Princess and the Pumpkin, a Halloween version of the Princess and the Pea. I made the top of the head about 3" longer than normal for the Ghoul and brought the fur down straight for about 12" rather than making a separate body for him. [He's like a very large sock puppet] He has a foam inner head--there's no way I could have moved him if he had been stuffed. His arms are about twice as large as normal. The fingers are stuffed, but the arms are floppy. I added a computer duster as his hair to make him appear taller. His eyes are foam golf balls with black buttons glued in place. I was going for "silly" rather than frightening.
If you look closely, you will see the Pumpkin Prince hiding under the stack of pillows. He was made with orange fleece and has embroidery floss lines forming his pumpkin head.
The spider is made from the Child pattern using fake fur for the head and black fleece for the body. The spider legs are tubes of black fleece with coat hanger wire forming the joints. There is a large body section made of fake fur that is difficult to see in this pic. That section held a balloon that allowed it to be big and bouncy without being heavy. The ladybug is a purchased puppet from Caltoy. It is stuck on a toilet brush as described in the section on stick puppets.
